Victory over India: Pakistan observes 'Day of Gratitude'

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday declared a nationwide Day of Gratitude in celebration of Pakistan's robust and effective military response to Indian aggression and the success of Operation Bunyan un Marsoos, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“This day will be observed to bow in thanksgiving to Almighty Allah, to honour the unmatched bravery of the Pakistan Armed Forces, and to recognise the unity and courage of the entire nation,” the prime minister stated.

The PM said Operation Bunyan un Marsoos gave a “strong and decisive response” to Indian hostility, proving Pakistan’s dominance on every front.

“Despite the enemy’s provocation, Pakistan ensured its defence with patience, preparedness, and strategic restraint. We are grateful to Allah Almighty, who granted us this success,” he added.

Shehbaz Sharif further emphasised that the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army will never be forgotten, and the entire nation stands firmly beside its armed forces.

The Prime Minister urged the public, especially religious scholars (Ulema), to hold special congregational prayers and offer Nawafil across the country. “Let the nation thank Allah and pray for our martyrs and ghazis (war heroes),” he said.

Yesterday, addressing the nation, the PM said that considering the regional peace and the lives of millions of people living in this region, Pakistan, as a responsible state, gave a positive response to the ceasefire.

The prime minister expressed the hope that all the outstanding issues, including the water distribution, the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, and all other unresolved issues, would now be settled by holding negotiations and by adopting a peaceful path.

The prime minister congratulated the entire nation from the core of his heart for proving to the world their self-esteem and respect, which were dearer to them than their lives, adding, “If anyone challenges the sovereignty, they stand like an iron wall and overpower their enemies.”

“What the enemy did was a cowardly and shameful act, a naked aggression,” but the brave and bold forces, with a display of professionalism, gave a very effective response that would always be remembered as a chapter in modern warfare.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on the pretext of the Pahalgam incident, India tried to drag Pakistan into a war despite the fact that without any delay, they had offered cooperation for an impartial and transparent global probe.

CM Maryam welcomes PM's decision to celebrate Thanksgiving Day

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's decision to celebrate Thanksgiving Day and said, "We are grateful to Allah Almighty for destroying the evil intentions of the enemy." 

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif said, "Today is not just a day of gratitude but also a day of pride, courage, and the victory of national unity."
