Achakzai, Fazl discuss political situation and opposition strategy

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman held an important meeting at the opposition lobby in Parliament House on Monday, where they discussed the country’s overall political situation, parliamentary affairs and the ongoing session of the National Assembly.

According to sources, the two leaders held detailed consultations on the prevailing political tension in the country, the role of opposition parties and matters relating to parliamentary proceedings.

During the meeting, both sides also reviewed the proceedings of the current National Assembly session and discussed the government’s approach on key political and legislative matters.

The leaders exchanged views on formulating a coordinated opposition strategy and enhancing cooperation among opposition parties inside and outside parliament.

Sources said the meeting focused on the need for a stronger and more effective opposition role in the current political environment, particularly in relation to democratic processes and parliamentary functioning.
