First Anniversary of Maarka-e-Haq: Hockey Fraternity Pays Rich Tribute to Armed Forces at KHA Legends Arena

On the first anniversary of the historic victory in Maarka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan Al Marsoos, the Karachi Hockey Association organized a grand ceremony at KHA Legends Arena to pay homage to the Armed Forces of Pakistan.

The event brought together the hockey fraternity, former Olympians, young players, and KHA officials who paid glowing tributes to the Pakistan Armed Forces. The ceremony commenced with an impressive march past, while the entire stadium resonated with thunderous chants of “Pak Fauj Zindabad” and “Pakistan Zindabad”.

The objective of the event was to express gratitude for the decisive victory in Maarka-e-Haq and to highlight India’s humiliating defeat before the world. An exhibition hockey match dedicated to the Armed Forces of Pakistan was also played on the occasion.

Chairperson KHA Syeda Shehla Raza, addressing the ceremony, said: "One year has passed since the great victory of Maarka-e-Haq — a day etched in the heart of every Pakistani. The world witnessed Pakistan’s restraint in the face of provocation, but when we responded, the world saw India’s disgrace. On May 10, Mother’s Day, I salute all mothers whose sons stand guard on our borders defending Pakistan."

President KHA Imtiaz Ali Shah stated: "Pakistan defeated an enemy many times its size on all fronts — land, sea, and air — leaving them in a state of shock that persists to this day. India is still paying the price for its mistakes made a year ago. Pakistan’s global stature has risen, while India faces isolation."

He added that the successful deployment of JF-17 Thunder jets has increased global demand for the aircraft, while India’s Rafale jets have suffered irreparable damage to their market reputation. He credited the entire success to the professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force’s falcons.

Former Secretary PHF Haider Hussain remarked:  "India displayed cowardice by targeting children and mosques, while our Armed Forces set the highest example of professionalism by striking only military targets. If we sleep peacefully today, it is because our guardians remain awake on the borders."

Olympian Waseem Feroz saluted Field Marshal Asim Munir and all personnel of the Armed Forces, stating that athletes raise the national flag in stadiums, while the Armed Forces protect that flag on the borders.

Olympian Hanif Khan said the manner in which Indian aggression was responded to will always be remembered with pride. Olympian Iftikhar Syed emphasized that the entire nation must offer Sajda-e-Shukr to Allah for granting Pakistan victory against a much larger enemy.

At the conclusion, all Olympians and KHA officials reaffirmed that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its brave Armed Forces and salutes them for breaking the enemy’s teeth.
