Govt appoints five consultants in IT Directorate of Pakistan Railways

The federal government has decided to accelerate the process of digitalization and IT reforms in Pakistan Railways and has approved the appointment of five consultants in the IT Directorate of the department.

According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division after approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Ali Abbas has been appointed as Project Manager Software (IT), while Muhammad Ali Imran has been appointed as Deputy Director IT (Software Systems).

Similarly, Sarosh Tahir has been appointed as Deputy Director IT (Infrastructure), while Muhammad Zeeshan and Sadia Sarwar have been appointed as Software Developers for Web Application Development in Pakistan Railways.

The appointments have been made on a three-year contract under MP Scale-3 and will take effect from the date the officers assume charge of their posts.

Meanwhile, the federal government has amended certain appointments and transfers in the federal bureaucracy.

According to amended notifications issued by the Establishment Division, the appointment of Muhammad Irfan Khan as Joint Secretary (Immunization and Polio Control) in the Ministry of Health has been cancelled. He has instead been retained as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Establishment Division.

In another development, the transfer of Kashif Hussain from the Religious Affairs Division to the Punjab government has also been cancelled, and he will continue to serve as Deputy Secretary in the Religious Affairs Division, according to the notification issued by the Establishment Division.
