Indian rock python pair confiscated from snake charmer in Lodhran

The Punjab wildlife department has recovered a rare pair of Indian rock pythons during a raid in Lodhran, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.

According to the Punjab Wildlife Department, the operation was carried out after receiving information that a local snake handler was illegally keeping the protected reptiles without permission.

During the raid, wildlife teams seized the pair of Indian rock pythons from the possession of a local “snake charmer” and arrested him for legal action.

Officials said the suspect was handed over to police after the recovery of the reptiles.

The department stated that keeping wildlife without official permission is a punishable offence under the law, and strict action will be taken against violators.

The rescued pythons, each reportedly around ten feet long, were later shifted to a zoo for proper care and protection.
