Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) fixed November 16 for the indictment of Railways Minister and PTI MNA Azam Swati and gave him time to submit a response of ECP show-cause notice in the next hearing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Azam Swati appeared before the ECP along with his lawyer Ali Zafar.
Counsel Ali Zafar claimed that his client Azam Swati did not receive any show-cause notice, to which the ECP replied, Swati was present when the show-cause notice was issued.
The ECP member said that the Commission would indict Swati in the next hearing, on which Ali Zafar replied, ‘it would give an impression that the ECP has already made up its mind to frame Swati in the case.”
The ECP member from Balochistan said that reply of show-cause notice is not required to indict the person.
The ECP directed Azam Swati to submit a response by November 16 and announced to indict him in the next hearing as well.
Swati thanked PTI senators and ministers who visited the ECP at the time of his hearing.
Swati lauded PM Imran Khan for appearing before the Supreme Court of Pakistan and termed the gesture a victory of law and justice.
Azam Swati talking to the media said that the government would make laws that would bring fair elections in 2023.
