During the first semi-final match, a woman who happened to be the mother of a New Zealand player was repeatedly shown on screen, the woman is reported to be the mother of Daryl Mitchell.

This is the same Daryl Mitchell who scored an unbeaten 72 with the help of four sixes and four fours and led his team to the final. 

For his sublime performance to knock out the England cricket Team, Daryl has awarded Man of the Match.

Speaking at the post-game event, Daryl Mitchell said his mother had come a long way just to watch his game from him.
