Pakistan can take action in Afghanistan: Khawaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Tuesday that Pakistan could take action in Afghanistan after the recent incidents of terrorism.

Speaking to a private news channel, Khawaja Asif said that evidence of Afghan intervention in the recent incidents would be placed before the mediators. He said that Pakistan would not let the aggression go unpunished; it would give a befitting reply. He said that condemnation or expression of regret by the Afghan Taliban could not be proof of truth. He said that people living in the shelter of the Afghan Taliban were repeatedly attacking Pakistan.

The defence minister said that by the grace of Allah the Pakistan Army had saved the cadets at Wana Cadet College. Talking about India, Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan had been on high alert regarding India since the recent war. He said India was operating through Afghanistan. No one should underestimate the hostile attitude of Pakistan's neighbour. Khawaja Asif said there were no safe havens for terrorists in Pakistan. Most of the terrorist incidents were being carried out by Afghan terrorist.

Khawaja Asif said that if friendly countries want to do something, they must do it. He said nobody in Afghanistan trusts the words of the Afghan Taliban so how can Pakistan do it. There is no ambiguity in the minds of the mediators that India is behind this. He said that terrorists get money from the Indian consulate in Afghanistan. He said all available diplomatic options related to Afghanistan will be used.
