Former law minister’s son arrested for not returning dowry to ex-wife

Islamabad police Monday arrested a son of the former federal law minister Wasi Zafar for violating the court orders to return the dowry to his ex-wife.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, An Islamabad court has sentenced Waqar Wasi, son of former law minister Wasi Zafar, to one year in prison for failing to return the dowry to his ex-wife.
During the hearing of the case on Monday, Islamabad Senior Civil Judge Qudrat Ullah said the accused has failed to implement the verdict and couldn’t provide any justification for not returning the dowry.
So, the judge sentenced him for one year with a condition that the accused should be released less than a year if he returned the dowry to his ex-wife.
The court had on March 20, 2018, ordered the return of the dowry. After the court orders, police arrested the accused outside the court.
