Internet service decreases in Pakistan as undersea Asia-Europe cable disrupted

Internet services Monday became slow in Pakistan as the undersea Asia-Europe cable has been disrupted.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the 25,000 kilometres long Asia-Europe double AE-1 cable of 40 terabytes has broken down near the UAE state of Fujairah.

The telecom sources said, due to the breakdown of the said most important cable, the internet speed in Pakistan was getting slow.

The sources said that due to the breakdown of the main cable, internet data traffic was being transferred to other low-capacity cables.

The sources said that the 40 terabyte cable could take several days to repair.
