The Sindh High Court has acquitted alleged target killer Obaid K2 and Nadir Shah of the murder of two policemen, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The high court was hearing a petition filed by alleged target killer Obaid against his conviction in two policemen’s murder case on Monday.
The court said that the prosecution had failed to prove the charge and it acquitted Obaid K2.
The SHC bench consisting of Justice Kareem Khan Agha and Justice Arshad Ali Shah pronounced the verdict.
According to the prosecution, the accused had murdered two policemen: Rehan and Nisar in Soldier Bazaar in 2000. He was arrested along with his companion from MQM office Nine Zero.
The anti-terrorism court found Obaid guilty and handed him down the life term.
But the SHC acquitted him and his companion Nadir Shah in the case and directed the authorities to release the accused if they were not involved in any other case.
