SBP warns public against fake calls to access bank accounts
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) warned the general public about fraudsters who used phone calls and messages to access their bank accounts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
In a statement, the SBP said that fraudsters may try to contact them via message or by phone.
The State Bank of Pakistan explained that these fraudsters will try to introduce themselves as bank employees and seek OTPs, PIN numbers, passwords, and mobile numbers for the verification of bank accounts.
The State Bank of Pakistan further said these fraudsters are likely to use these tools to access their bank accounts.
State Bank of Pakistan further said that no bank is authorized to collect information through phone or message.
SBP advised the public to remain calm and ignore such tactics and also informed their relevant bank in this regard.
SBP asked the consumers to share the number of fraudsters with the bank.
