Buzdar takes notice as another mother gang-raped in Taunsa
As the people are shocked by the Motorway gang-rape case, a similar incident was reported in Taunsa which prompted Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Friday to take notice as he sought a report from the officials concerned.
Earlier, 24NewsHD TV channel reported that two locals sexually assaulted a mother of two in front of her children for the entire night at Basti Lashari located near Taunsa.
The incident had occurred a day earlier on the night between Wednesday and Thursday as the victim, Asma Bibi, managed to identify her rapists.
However, police again showed a lethargic and insensitive approach as the case was registered and medical conducted 24 hours after the gang-rape. However, the two accused – Fayyaz Hussain and Elahi Bakhsh – have not been arrested yet.
In this connection, her father, Zameer Hussain Lashari, said they were first sent to the Retra Police Station and then to the office of the area DSP. Similarly, they were first sent to the hospital in Tibbi and later to the main health facility in Taunsa, he added.
However, the test was conducted only after the victim’s family staged a protest on Thursday night.
Lashari said no one was paying attention to him for being a poor labourer as he demanded immediate arrest of the accused and swift justice for her daughter.
Yet another horrific gang-rape case emerged as famous cyclist Samar Khan on Saturday said harassing and sexually assaulting women was considered a normal in the country.
Samar criticised the norm of victim blaming which is common in the country, as she expressed her views at 24@9 – the daily morning show aired by 24NewsHD TV channel – while sharing the ordeal experienced two days ago when she was groped in public on a busy road of Islamabad by an educated person.
