Federal Health Ministry Sunday termed the reports of stoppage of production of fever medicines are false, baseless, and contrary to facts, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

A spokesperson of the Ministry of Health said that the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) is determined to provide quality and standard medicines to the people.

“Production of various brands of paracetamol continues in the country on a large scale,” the official said adding that “The Ministry of Health and DRAP are continuously monitoring the situation”.

The spokesperson termed the news in social media about the disappearance of Panadol as fake and misleading and opined that the purpose of spreading false information is only to play with innocent lives and to benefit drug hoarders.

The Ministry of Health is strictly monitoring the ongoing situation for ensuring an uninterrupted supply of all essential medicines to the hapless patients, the official added.

Life-saving drugs and other regular medicines are easily available in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. Drugs for dengue, malaria, fever, diarrhea, headache, and cough are easily available in the flood-hit areas, the spokesperson concluded.
