LHC Chief Justice sets time frame for decisions of cases in courts

Chief Justice Lahore High Court Aalia Neelum Thursday fixed timelines for timely decisions of cases according to their categories, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to the timelines, land disputes were ordered to be settled and decided for within 24 months whereas injunction cases in land disputes were ordered to be settled within six months. Orders were given to decide for Inheritance disputes and recovery suites along with monetary disputes within 12 months, cases of implementation of agreements within 18 months, and rental cases within 6 months. 

Chief Justice Neelum also instructed to dispose of family suits (divorce, dower, maintenance, guardianship) within 6 months, and cases of uncontested succession in just 2 months.

Labor cases were ordered to be completed within 6 months. Cases for execution on Family Court orders were ordered to be disposed of within 6 months. Cases of issuance of Banking court and Civil court degrees were ordered to be closed within 12 months. 

Instructions to complete trials of juvenile offenders, Juvenile Justice Act trials within 6 months were made. The sentence cases of up to seven years were ordered to be completed within 12 months, cases with sentences of more than seven years within 18 months and murder cases within 24 months. All judges and presiding officers have been instructed to strictly implement timelines, as the Chief Justice said that timely justice is the fundamental right of the people.
