Rabi-us-Sani moon likely to be sighted on Saturday evening

The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has predicted that the moon of Rabi-us-Sani 1448 AH is likely to be sighted on Saturday (September 12) evening, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The Suparco said that the Rabi-us-Sani is likely to be born on September 11 at 8:27 am, so there is a highly likely hood that the crescent would be seen on Saturday evening.

The moon is likely to be seen visually in Pakistan’s coastal areas while in other areas it could be spotted with the help of telescopes, a Suparco spokesman said.

The first of Rabi' al-Thani 1448 AH is expected to be on September 13 (Sunday).

The final decision on the advent of Rabi-us-Sani will be taken by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the Suparco spokesperson maintained.
