While commenting on the removal of Imran Khan from the Prime Minister office through a vote of no-confidence, former finance minister Ishaq Dar Tuesday said, “Thus ended the fascist regime. It was the darkest period in the history of the country.”

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Ishaq Dar said while talking to journalists in London that the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) brought only destruction to the country.

“Debts piled up in their [PTI’s] tenure. The country progressed under Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N),” said the former finance minister.

To a question put to him by a journalist about his return to Pakistan, Ishaq Dar said: “We are trying to complete the medical examination as soon as possible. Let’s see what the doctors say.”
