BBC reports Trump watches UFC fight in Miami during critical US-Iran talks
United States President Donald Trump was in Miami attending a UFC event while negotiations between the United States and Iran were under way in Islamabad, according to a report by BBC.
The report said Trump watched the fight alongside members of his family and Secretary of State Marco Rubio during the talks, which were aimed at easing tensions in the Middle East.
Despite his presence in Miami, US Vice President JD Vance said he remained in constant communication with the president throughout the negotiations.
Vance stated that he had spoken to Trump multiple times during the discussions, which lasted around 21 hours.
He added that the president stayed in close contact with the negotiating team, noting that Washington was engaging in the talks in good faith.
He said that he had spoken to Mr Trump on the phone several times during the process to provide updates and receive guidance.
The report has drawn attention to the circumstances under which the high-level talks were conducted, although US officials have maintained that communication between the leadership and negotiating team remained active throughout.
