Hyderabad Kingsmen edge past Islamabad United in PSL 11 encounter

Hyderabad Kingsmen secured their second victory after defeating Islamabad United by six wickets in the 21st match of the PSL 11 at the National Stadium in Karachi on Sunday, 24NewsHD TV reported.  

Hyderabad Kingsmen successfully chased down a target of 154 set by Islamabad United, securing a four-wicket win in the 19th over.

Captain Marnus Labuschagne led from the front with an unbeaten 61, anchoring the chase with a composed innings.

Saim Ayub scored 35, and Muaz Sadaqat added 30 before returning to the pavilion.

Usman Khan managed 1 run, while Kusal Perera contributed 2.

Glenn Maxwell chipped in with 21 runs to support the chase.

For Islamabad United, Faheem Ashraf and Chris Green picked up two wickets each, but their efforts were not enough to defend the total.

Batting first, Islamabad United posted 153 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs, with Devon Conway top-scoring with 45 runs.

Mark Chapman contributed 42, while Sameer Minhas added 22 to provide some stability in the middle order.

Hyderabad Kingsmen’s bowling attack kept the scoring in check, led by Asif Mahmood, who claimed four wickets. Mohammad Ali picked up two, while Glenn Maxwell chipped in with one wicket.

Earlier, Marnus Labuschagne, captain of Hyderabad Kingsmen, won the toss and elected to field first against Islamabad United, sending skipper Shadab Khan in to bat.

Hyderabad Kingsmen have struggled so far, sitting seventh on the points table with just one win from five matches.

In contrast, Islamabad United are in a much stronger position, placed third with three wins from five games.
