At least three people were killed while two others got injured after an accidental explosion occurred in the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) on Thursday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The ISPR statement said the explosion occurred due to a technical fault, adding that the injured had been shifted to a hospital. The statement further said that the technical emergency response team at the POF had cleared the accidental site and the situation is under control.

The statement said that the details of the incident would be shared later. 

Earlier, 24News HD TV channel reported that the windows of nearby houses and buildings got shattered by the blast. The blast caused havoc in the area. The citizen came out of the houses after seeing the clouds of smoke after the blast. Rescue and police vehicles arrived at the spot immediately.
