West Indies crush Pakistan by 202 runs to seal historic ODI series win after 34 years

Pakistan suffered a humiliating series defeat against the West Indies, losing the third and final ODI by a massive 202 runs at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. 

 The result gave the hosts a 2–1 series win, their first ODI series triumph over Pakistan in 34 years.

In the decisive match, Pakistan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan opted to field first after winning the toss, inviting West Indies to bat.

The hosts made full use of the opportunity, posting 294 for six in their allotted 50 overs.

Hope anchored the innings with a superb unbeaten 120 off 94 deliveries, while Justin Greaves provided late fireworks with a blistering 43 off just 24 balls.

The opening contributions came from Evin Lewis, who scored 37, and Roston Chase with 36 runs.

Other notable performances included Justin Greaves, who smashed a quickfire 43 not out off just 24 balls, while Keacy Carty made 17, Sherfane Rutherford 15, Gudakesh Motie 5, and Brandon King 5.

Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah picked up two wickets each, while Saim Ayub and Mohammad Nawaz claimed one wicket apiece.

Chasing a target of 295, Pakistan’s batting line-up crumbled spectacularly. The top order collapsed, with Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, and skipper Mohammad Rizwan all dismissed without scoring.

Star batter Babar Azam managed only nine runs, while Salman Ali Agha top-scored with 30, and Mohammad Nawaz added 23.

Hasan Nawaz contributed 13 runs as Pakistan were bundled out at 92, far short of the target.

The crushing defeat not only handed Pakistan the series loss but also exposed deep flaws in their batting stability ahead of upcoming international fixtures.

For the West Indies, the win marked a memorable achievement, ending decades of ODI series frustration against Pakistan.
