Two earring-snatchers shot dead in Lahore police encounter

Two under-custody dacoits accused of snatching gold earring from a woman were dead while their accomplices escaped from the scene during a police encounter in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Crime Control Department (CCD) sources said that a CCD team was taking the accused to the Manawan area of Lahore for recovery when suddenly their accomplices opened fire on the police vehicle.

During heavy exchange of firing, both accused received serious bullet wounds and died. 

The other accomplices of the accused fled away taking advantage of the darkness.

CCD sources said that both the dead accused were involved in snatching gold earrings from an old woman in Ghaziabad, Lahore.

CCD sources further revealed that during the police encounter, all the CCD personnel and their van remained safe.
