HAVI questions society’s attitude towards artists
Musician HAVI as known as Abdur Rahman Sajid has questioned with a light touch of humour shade on whether artists are truly treated with respect in Pakistan.
During a conversation with senior fashion writer Maliha Rehman, the discussion turned towards the lack of respect given to artists in society.
HAVI responded with a blunt yet witty question: “Hamare haan kis ko izzat di jaati hai?” (asking who is actually respected in the country.)
Expanding on his point, HAVI said society has failed to show respect not only to artists but also to politicians, religious leaders and ordinary people.
He further went on to say that women, men, children and even animals are often not treated with the respect they deserve.
“So should we cry about artists?” he questioned and pointed out that artists are small minority within a much larger social problem.
Well talking about Havi's professional career his soulful vocals and apprroach towards music has given him wider recognition through Pepsi Battle of the Bands.
He became particularly popular for his special renditions of classical Qawwalis before carving out his own identity in the music scene.
The Karachi based singer has since moved above the covers and renditions.
He is releasing his own music as well with his latest track named Trouble out recently.
