The reason behind the removal of Petroleum Division Secretary Dr Arshad Mehmood has come to the fore as he was transferred on the complaint of an important minister, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources divulged to 24News TV channel on Sunday that Dr Arshad Mehmood who is BS-22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service and was working as the petroleum secretary was removed following his spat with an important federal minister during a meeting.
The minister complained about the secretary to Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Establishment Division ordered for his removal.
The Establishment Division on Saturday removed Petroleum Division Secretary Dr Mehmood and assigned the charge of the office to another bureaucrat Ali Raza Bhutta who is already working as power division secretary.

In September, Special Assistant to PM on Power and Petroleum Tabish Gauhar had resigned from his post as sources had revealed that he became wary of interference in his working.
