Vaccination monitoring teams arrest 37 violators, seize 172 vehicles

During the special drive for implementation of an obligatory vaccination regime in the transport sector, joint monitoring teams along with policemen have arrested 37 violators and seized 172 vehicles.
The special drive is in progress from December 8 to 18, 2021 by all federating units through the formulation of Joint Monitoring Teams.
The Joint Monitoring Teams have the mandate of checking all types of transport—public and private—and inspecting at the entry and exit points, bus stands, toll plazas, interchanges, national highways and motorways.
The teams will make efforts to vaccinate non-vaccinated vehicle staff and passengers on the spot through the Mobile Vaccination Team (MVT).
Only vaccinated individuals and individuals holding medical exemption certificates will be allowed to travel.
The teams have checked the areas for implementation of obligatory vaccination regime including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lodhran, Okara, Hafizabad, Lahore, Kasur, Multan, Jhelum, Shahkot.
As per the report, a total of 12073 travellers were inspected by the teams and impounded 172 vehicles and made 37 arrests.
