The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has passed a bill to give legal cover to the illegal use of state resources, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
As per the draft, the official helicopter use by any person since November 1, 2008, cannot be questioned
From now onward, any government functionary including ministers, bureaucrats, advisers etc can use the government helicopter or hire a plane for private use with the prior permission of the chief minister. The government may time to time fix the rent rate.
KP Minister Shaukat Yousafzai brought in the bill which is part of the salaries and allowances of ministers.
The opposition dubbed it an NRO to provide legal cover to the chopper used by the party leaders including Imran Khan in the nine-year PTI rule.
The opposition objected to the bill and announced approaching the court against it.
Reportedly, PTI chief Imran Khan has been using the use of the provincial government’s helicopter and state resources for personal purposes and electioneering too.
