Pakistan People's Party leader Farhatullah Babar has challenged the reappointment of PTA member finance after retirement in the Islamabad High Court, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
As per the petition, the reappointment of Mohammad Naveed as Member Finance after retirement is a violation of the constitution and PTA rules.
For the first time ever since the Islamabad High Court judgment in 2013, there has been a reappointment, the petitioners said.
The PTA chairman and compliance member are also retiring in January 2023, the petitioner said, adding that it is highly likely that member compliance and the PTA chairman will seek reappointment.
The petition made a request to the court for restraining Muhammad Naveed from taking charge.
