PM Shehbaz calls for immediate start of Gaza reconstruction

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that reconstruction of the Gaza strip, destroyed by relentless bombing by Israeli forces, should start immediately, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

Speaking at the federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad, he said that Saudi Arabia was Pakistan’s best and most reliable friend and that it would not allow anybody to cast an evil eye on the country. 

The prime minister said the government was committed to providing facilities to overseas Pakistanis. 

He further said that he had a detailed meeting with the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) delegation in Dubai.

He said that during the meeting, the Fund MD praised the steps the government had taken for the betterment of the country’s economy. “The MD’s complimentary remarks are quite encouraging.”  

PM Shehbaz said that an increase in remittances being sent by overseas Pakistanis was also quite promising. “This shows that they have a trust in the government,” he added.

He went on to say that Türkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was due to arrive in Islamabad on a two-day visit. “Erdogan’s visit is of great importance. Several agreements related to trade and other sectors will be inked during his stay in the country,” the prime minister informed.
