Rizwan credits Pakistan’s victory to teamwork, strategy and faith

Pakistan’s national cricket team skipper Mohammad Rizwan has attributed the team’s success against South Africa to divine assistance and strategic planning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday. 

In a post-match interview, he stated, "When Allah's help is with us, records are made." 

He revealed that Pakistan approached the match with a T20 mindset, which helped them chase down the 352-run target efficiently.

Rizwan praised the solid start by the openers, which provided the foundation for the innings. However, after the loss of three quick wickets, the game became evenly poised, he added. 

 Rizwan further revealed that he avoided looking at the scoreboard for the first 18 overs, choosing instead to focus on executing the game plan in five-over phases. He admitted that there was a brief moment of pressure, but ultimately, the team’s perseverance paid off.

Discussing the bowling performance, Rizwan acknowledged that the team needs significant improvement in this department. 

Addressing Babar Azam’s current form, Rizwan defended the star batter, saying, "Babar has scored so many runs in the past that we always expect big performances from him." He praised Babar’s ability to serve Pakistan cricket consistently, calling him a brand of the game. 

Comparing Pakistan’s playing style to other teams, Rizwan stated that Pakistan’s cricket remains unpredictable, whether against Australia or Zimbabwe. 

Rizwan also described Saim Ayoub as a complete package, contributing as a top-order batter and fielder while also being capable of playing long innings.
