Time for talks with PTI is over, says PML-N’s Irfan Siddiqui

Making the government’s stance on talks with the PTI clear, PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui said categorically on Wednesday that the time for holding negotiations with the party was up and there would be no further offer to the party in this regard, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

He also announced that in future, the government would not take an initiative for a dialogue with the PTI. “When we used to say that the doors for negotiations were open, we did not mean to say that we were dying for that,” the senator said, and added, “It is now up to the PTI to decide when it would hold meaningful and a result-oriented dialogue with the government.”   

But let it be crystal clear, Siddiqui went on to say, that the PTI should bear this thing in mind that it would have to change its non-serious attitude.    

He said that former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan had started writing open letters. “Now I have learnt that he is writing the third one.”

“The truth of the matter is that civilian supremacy has never been the goal of the PTI,” the senator claimed. 

Nothing wrong with IMF’s talks with CJP, says Gohar 

Also on Wednesday, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said the entire world believed in the freedom of judiciary. 

Talking to the media men in Islamabad, he said there was nothing wrong with the IMF delegation’s meeting with Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Yahya Afridi. 

When a reporter asked whether talks with the government were now history, Gohar said the PTI was holding negotiations not to exchange greetings with the government committee members. “There were some serious issues which we wanted to resolve.”

“Now we are trying to forge an alliance of the opposition parties,” the PTI chairman informed.
