Indian-made anti-tank mine found in Shakargarh village
A 12-pound Indian-made anti-tank mine was found and defused near Qasim Pura village on the outskirts of Shakargarh, averting a potential disaster.
According to details, authorities received a report about suspected explosives in a drain near Qasim Pura. Following the alert, the bomb disposal squad (BDS) was immediately called to the scene. The team promptly reached the location, cordoned off the area and conducted a thorough search.
Acting with professional expertise, the BDS personnel found a 12-pound Indian-made anti-tank mine in a drain. Officials said the explosive device was taken into safe custody and successfully defused.
Due to the timely action of the bomb disposal squad, no loss of life or property was reported.
Following the incident, security in the area was tightened and intelligence agencies launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the recovery of the explosive device.
