Man set on fire by wife, children in Narang Mandi; dies of burns

A man died after his wife and children allegedly poured petrol on him and set him on fire in Narang Mandi, police said.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred at the victim’s residence where his wife and children allegedly doused him with petrol and ignited the fire. The severely injured man was immediately rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his burn injuries.

Narang Mandi police have registered a case against the wife and children on the complaint of the victim’s brother.

Police officials said investigations are underway to ascertain the motive for the incident, as the reason for the act has not yet been determined.
