Both the shooters involved in the assassination attempt on Nawaz League’s Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Bilal Yasin have been arrested, 24News reported on Wednesday.

The Punjab Police spokesman said in a statement that the two suspects involved in the Bilal Yasin Case had been arrested.

According to the police spokesman, both shooters were arrested during an undercover operation in the Shahdara area.

He said that intelligence raids were carried out at 10 places to arrest both the accused, adding that the CCPO and DIG Investigation formed 16 teams for their arrest.

The accused will be produced in court for the identification parade tomorrow, the police spokesman said adding that the Punjab Chief Minister and the IG Punjab were personally overseeing the case.

The police sources said both the accused took the money and opened fire on Bilal Yaseen while Fakhr Alam and Sajid, who provided weapons and facilitated the shooters, have already been arrested.

The sources said the police investigation is also revealing the name of another person who carried out the attack by paying money.

However, the man's name of the mastermind is still being kept secret and further investigations are underway.
