Court hands death penalty to four in Johar Town blast Case, female gets 5-year jail

In the Johar Town bomb blast case, a special anti-terrorism court sentenced to death four accused, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, the court also sentenced five years imprisonment to the fifth female accused Ayesha Gul in the case.

Special Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta delivered the verdict and convicted the accused Peter Paul, Eid Gul Khan, Zia Ullah, Sajjad and Ayesha Gul.

The judge heard the case in the Kot Lakhpat Jail due to high-security concerns and 56 prosecution witnesses recorded statements against the accused.

CTD Lahore had registered a case against the accused and had declared the accused guilty in the Johar Town blast case.

The CCTV footage and forensic evidence related to the case were also provided to the court and the prosecutor demanded the death penalty for the accused.
