SHC rejects MQM’s plea for stay order against LB polls

The Sindh High Court (SHC) Thursday rejected the plea of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) for stay orders against the local bodies’ elections in Karachi and Hyderabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The lawyer for the MQM-P could not satisfy the court with his arguments.
“How did three members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issue the schedule instead of five members?” the court questioned during the hearing of the plea.
“The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will answer this question,” said the Advocate General of Sindh.
The ECP member said that the arguments of the advocate general were satisfactory.
