Sargodha police foil major drug smuggling attempt

Sargodha police have foiled a major drug smuggling attempt, seizing 58 mounds of narcotics and arresting three suspects, including a couple, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday. 

According to police officials, the large consignment of poppy husk and intoxicants was being transported from Peshawar to Sargodha in a Mazda vehicle when it was intercepted.

During the search operation, the police found that a woman and her two accomplices were bringing the narcotics into Sargodha.

Following the recovery, the accused were taken into custody, and formal investigations were initiated.

The arrested suspects are identified as Usama Gondal, Shazia, and Arshad, who were allegedly involved in smuggling drugs into the city.

A case has been registered at Bhalwal Sadar Police Station, and further legal proceedings are underway.
