Information Minister condemns KP Chief Minister over remarks on Afghanistan

Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar Monday strongly condemned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, accusing him of speaking on behalf of Afghanistan in a statement he described as “shameful and highly condemnable.”

In a tweet posted on X, Tarar criticised Afridi for allegedly downplaying the role of the Afghan Taliban regime in supporting terrorist activities.

He said there is undeniable evidence that Afghan soil is being used for terrorism, and Pakistan has made immense sacrifices in the fight against militancy.

The minister accused Afridi of promoting lies and hypocrisy, and of facilitating terrorists whenever members of the Ansar movement spoke out.

He added that groups opposed to Pakistan’s progress, including the fitna al-Khawarij, were targeting the country, and called on Afridi to “be brought to his senses.”
