New e-Procurement system will be launched in June: PPRA MD

Managing Director of Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Hasnat Ahmed Qureshi has announced that a new version of e-Procurement system will be launched in June this year to further promote transparency, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday, Hasnat Qureshi said this e procurement system will also be rolled out in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. He said the latest version will be handed over to the provinces in March this year.

The PPRA Managing Director emphasized that the new e-Procurement platform will facilitate all the procurement processes entirely electronically from bidding and evaluation to complaint resolution.

He further noted that manual procurement systems are susceptible to corruption and leakages. He said the e-Procurement system was therefore introduced to address these issues and ensure greater transparency.
