Selena and Benny steal Golden Globes in first big awards date after secret wedding

Selena Gomez and her husband Benny Blanco turned the 2026 Golden Globes into a romantic night out, making a glamorous appearance together just four months after quietly tying the knot.

The 33-year-old singer and actress and the 37-year-old music producer stayed close as they walked the red carpet on Sunday, openly affectionate and clearly in their newlywed phase. Married since last year, the couple radiated ease and intimacy as cameras followed their every move.

Gomez leaned fully into classic movie star elegance, wearing a black strapless velvet Chanel gown accented with dramatic white feather detailing along the neckline.

She completed the vintage-inspired look with a sharply styled side-parted "Dolce Vita" bob, her brunette hair sculpted to perfection. Her makeup was equally striking, highlighted by a deep, vampy red matte lipstick that accentuated her signature pout.

Blanco complemented her timeless aesthetic with a polished and understated ensemble of his own. He wore a double-breasted black suit with satin lapels layered over a black shirt, finishing the look with a brooch, a diamond watch, and a bold chain necklace. Sleek black loafers adorned with embellished stones completed his formal appearance.

In November, Gomez described the early days of married life as "a dream" during an interview with Zane Lowe, offering a rare glimpse into her happiness following the wedding.

The couple exchanged vows on September 27 in Santa Barbara. In the weeks leading up to the ceremony, Gomez was visibly brimming with excitement. While appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, she lit up when her wedding plans came up, smiling broadly as she shared, "It's wonderful. I'm very lucky. It's going well. I'm so excited."

Their romance became public in December 2023, and one year later they announced their engagement. At the time, Gomez marked the milestone on social media with the words, "Forever starts now," alongside a photo showcasing her diamond engagement ring.

The evening was hosted by Nikki Glaser, who returned to the Golden Globes stage for the second year in a row. Reflecting on her previous hosting experience, Glaser said in March 2025, "Hosting the Golden Globes this year was without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career."

She added, "I can't wait to do it again, and this time in front of the team from The White Lotus, who will finally recognize my talent and cast me in season 4 as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past."

Ahead of this year’s ceremony, Glaser revealed she had only recently rewatched her last hosting performance. "I avoided watching it again, because I lived it," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "But I just went back and watched it two days ago just to remind myself of what I liked, what I didn’t like."

Confident in her delivery, she concluded, "I kind of nailed it. And it scares me, because that was kind of lightning in a bottle."

This year’s nominations are led by One Battle After Another with nine nods. The film is competing in the Best Picture Musical or Comedy category against Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice, and Nouvelle Vague.
