Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been discharged from the hospital after his health improved, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday, quoting its sources.
He was given clean chit after all necessary coronavirus tests had been conducted before he was discharged.
It is pertinent to mention that Shah Mehmood Qureshi was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi on July 4 after his coronavirus test result came back positive.
Qureshi announced the grim news through his twitter account but remained in high spirit saying feeling fully energetic and strong.
“This afternoon I felt a slight fever and immediately quarantined myself at home. I have now tested positive for Covid-19. By the grace of Allah, I feel strong and energetic. I will continue to carry on my duties from home. Please remember me in your prayers.”
Shah Mehmood Qureshi is the second high-profile minister from Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet who has tested positive for the coronavirus. Earlier, Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid had been tested positive for the virus who later successfully recovered.
Special Assistant to PM on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has also been quarantined at home after contracting the coronavirus.
