Pakistan reports 1,808 new coronavirus cases; 15 deaths
Pakistan reported 1,808 new coronavirus cases as the fear of the fourth wave of the deadly virus continued to loom large, (Sunday) showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.
According to the statistics released by NCOC, as many as 15 more people succumbed to coronavirus during the last 24 hours as the total death the toll has now surged to 22,597 which represents a ratio of 2.3 percent.
The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 3.85 percent, as 1,808 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 47,015 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 975,092 that returned positive after conducting 15,103,802 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country is 38,622 with 2,162 patients in critical condition.
There were 670 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 913,873 with a 93.7% recovery rate.
Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 224 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 348,309 with 8,649 active cases. In Punjab, three more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 10,822. With 71 new recoveries, 328,838 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
Sindh has recorded 1,118 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 347,478 with 24,204 active cases. With 8 new deaths related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 5,607. With 256 new recoveries, 317,667 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 150 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 139,463 with 1,780 active cases. The province reported 34 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 4,362. With 101 new recoveries, 133,321 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan has recorded another 33 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 27,994 with 843 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remains 317. With 65 new recoveries, 26,834 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad has recorded 117 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 83,764 with 1,656 active cases. With one new death reported in the Federal Capital, the death toll reached 784. With 46 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 81,324 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 113 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 21,180 with 886 active cases. With no new deaths reported, the death toll remains 594. There were 43 new recoveries in the AJK as 19,700 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 53 new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 6,904 with 604 active cases. No new death reported in the province as the death toll remains at 111. There were 88 new recoveries as the number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reached 6,189.
