The federal government has dismissed the Baitul Mal board members appointed during the tenure of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The government has also issued a notification to form a new board of the Baitul Mal, official sources have said.
“With the approval of the federal cabinet, old members of the board were dismissed, and a new board has been formed. Six non-official members have been appointed in the new board,” it added.
“Barrister Zafarullah Khan from Islamabad, Mir Changez Jamali from Balochistan, Musarrat Rafique from Sindh, Muhammad Humayun from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Fauzia Habib from Punjab and Pervaiz Ashraf from Azar Kashmir have been appointed as members of the board,” it stated.
The old board members were dismissed for unsatisfactory performance. More than three years had also passed since their appointment, the government sources said.
