A dejected 12-year-old boy committed suicide when his father refused to buy him a mobile phone in Korangi area of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to police, 12-year-old Kabeer asked his father to get him a mobile phone. He became envious after his old man purchased a smart phone for his elder brother a few days ago. But the father refused to buy him a phone.

Taking the refusal to his heart, the poor child took his mother’s dupatta, made a noose out of it and committed suicide by hanging from the roof.

Kabeer was on number two among four siblings. His father works in an estate agency and his mother runs a beauty salon.
