The Medical Superintendent (MS) of Wapda Hospital Guddu has been abducted by unknown armed men, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

According to sources, the MS Dr. Munir Ahmad Naich of Wapda Hospital Guddu, Kashmore district was abducted by six armed bandits who came on motorcycles when Dr. Munir was sitting in his private clinic on Tuesday evening.

The eyewitnesses said that the kidnappers held all the staff and patients present in the clinic hostage. However, they only took away the medical superintendent Dr. Munir Ahmad Naich to an unknown place at gunpoint.

After the incident, the locals staged a protest against the incident and blocked the Indus Highway for commuters. The traffic to and from Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan was suspended due to the blocking of the Indus Highway.

The people expressed their anguish that the number of kidnapped people reached forty across the district and the Kashmore police failed completely to maintain law and order.
