CTD registers case over massacre of 9 passengers in Zhob

A formal case has been registered over the brutal killing of nine passengers in Zhob, Balochistan, a tragic incident that has sparked nationwide outrage and concern, 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

According to sources within the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), a case has been lodged against unknown assailants.

The case was officially registered at the CTD Police Station Zhob, with the SHO of the Levies Police Station serving as the complainant, CTD sources confirmed.

Authorities have included several serious charges in the First Information Report (FIR), including murder, attempted murder, and terrorism, among others, as investigators begin to probe one of the most heinous crimes in the region in recent months.

The massacre occurred a day ago, when armed men intercepted a passenger vehicle and forcibly removed a group of passengers before executing them in cold blood.

The victims were reportedly traveling through the troubled region when the incident took place.

No group has claimed responsibility so far.

Law enforcement agencies, including the CTD, have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive behind the targeted killings.
