Lady Willingdon Hospital building declared unsafe, some units shifted

The building of Lady Willingdon Hospital has been declared unsafe and dangerous, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare Kh Salman Rafique during the meeting gave orders that various units of the hospital should be immediately shifted to nearby hospital. He said one unit each will be transferred to Lady Aitchison Hospital, Yaki Gate Hospital and Shahdara Hospital. 

Secretary Specialized Health Azmat Mahmood and other officials attended the meeting. 

Kh Salman said that the emergency and OPD of Lady Willingdon Hospital will continue to be functional. All the units will be shifted back again once the new building of Lady Willingdon Hospital, which is under construction for 7.5 billion, is completed. Rafique directed the Infrastructure Development Authority of Punjab (IDEP) to complete construction of the new building as soon as possible. 

Additionally, two extra ambulances have been deployed for transferring patients from the hospital.
