18 undocumented Afghan nationals, including children, detained in Karachi

Karachi police have detained 18 Afghan nationals, including children, during a crackdown on undocumented foreign nationals in the Quaidabad area of Malir district, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday. 

According to police officials, the operation was carried out under the National Action Plan (NAP) as part of the ongoing campaign against foreigners residing illegally in Pakistan.

The detained Afghan nationals were shifted to the GCT Afghan Holding Camp for legal processing.

The detainees include Samiullah, Ameema, Naseeba, Marfa, Umar, Gul Cheena, Habibullah, Hameedullah, Naqeebullah, Ahsanullah, Saima, Bibi Gul, Rasheeda, Gul Meena, Malaika, Naeemullah, Sakina, and Shah Treena, police said.

SSP Malir said the 18 Afghan nationals were taken into custody on charges of illegal residence and transferred for further legal action in accordance with government policy.

Police officials added that, following the Quaidabad operation, all detainees were moved to the holding camp, where legal formalities and verification procedures will be completed before further action.

The SSP Malir said the district police's operation against illegally residing foreign nationals is continuing as part of efforts to enforce immigration laws and implement the government's directives.
