A coalition government in Punjab will present its first annual budget for 2022-23 in the provincial assembly tomorrow (Monday, June 13), the total volume of the provincial budget is Rs3.2 trillion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

According to details, Provincial minister Awais Leghari will present the budget for the next fiscal year.

The development budget for the next fiscal year is Rs685 billion.

There will be an increase of 15 per cent increase in salaries of government employees, while the pensions will be increased by 5 per cent.

Rs60 billion will be allocated for developmental projects in Lahore.

Rs365 billion will be allocated for ongoing projects.

The Punjab government will launch new projects worth Rs233 billion.

For this purpose, a special meeting was held here at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Sunday. Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz chaired the parliamentary party meeting.

It is important that the opposition party—Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to attend the budget session sitting on the opposition benches.
