Appreciating the Capital Development Authority (CDA) workers, especially the sanitary workers, for keeping Islamabad neat and clean during the Eid holidays, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi said on Thursday that 2,400 tonnes of animal hides and waste was disposed of in just three days, which was indeed a remarkable job, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a function in Islamabad to honour the CDA workers, the minister said that 2, 500 workers and 250 vehicles participated in the zero waste operation, while the monitoring was done through drone cameras. “The fact that citizens have expressed their satisfaction with the CDA’s performance is an acknowledgement of its performance,” he said, adding, “Together we have to make Islamabad a world-class city.”

Naqvi also thanked the residents of the city for cooperating with the CDA staff in the cleanliness operation.

He, on the occasion, announced a one-month salary for the Authority’s workers as a reward besides giving Rs15,000 to each daily wage worker.
