Dar, Swiss foreign minister welcome progress in US-Iran reconciliation efforts

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis on Friday, during which the two leaders discussed the overall regional situation and recent diplomatic developments.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister's Office, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on the evolving situation in the region and matters of mutual interest.

The two sides welcomed the encouraging progress being made toward reconciliation between the United States and Iran and expressed hope that ongoing diplomatic efforts would contribute to peace and stability in the region.

During the conversation, Swiss Foreign Minister Cassis appreciated Pakistan's prominent role in facilitating dialogue and promoting diplomatic engagement. He commended Islamabad's efforts to support peace initiatives and contribute to regional and global stability.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of continued diplomacy and constructive engagement in addressing regional challenges.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on future developments, reaffirming their commitment to cooperation and dialogue on issues of mutual concern.
